Okane ga Nai (or No Money in English) is a yaoi series created by Hitoyo Shinozaki and illustrated by Tohru Kousaka, about a young boy – Yukiya Ayase – betrayed by his cousin and sold at an auction to pay for his cousin's debts. Somuku Kanou, a business man, buys him for 120 million yen, and forces Ayase to have sex with him to pay off his debt.
It's one of those really cliche Japanese stories – in the context of "He's bought!" "He must have sex!" "He enjoys it!" "But he feels ashamed!" "And he's super possessive!" (except revealed in much, much better way) – but it's both beautiful and complex in its story telling, and contains very strong character development. Okane ga Nai is serious at it's core, but it's also hilarious, hot, and most of all, realistic for it's genre. /spews more cheese
